Central Park

Landscape Full day difficulty: Easy with kids: yes
Central Park

A 340-hectare rectangle of woods, lakes and meadows right in the heart of Manhattan, with skyscrapers peeking over the trees. It's the city's playground: squirrels, rowboats, skaters and street musicians at every turn.

The pop wink

Central Park is the setting of countless movies your kids know: the pigeon and the hotel from «Home Alone 2», the fountain from «Enchanted», the museum from «Night at the Museum». Recognizing a corner from a movie is half the fun of the walk.

With kids

  • Feeding the tame squirrels by hand near the paths
  • Renting a rowboat and gliding across the lake with the skyscrapers behind
  • Looking for the Alice in Wonderland statue and climbing on it
  • Skating or running along the paths closed to cars
Accessibility: All ages; there are playgrounds spread all across the park

With family

  • Spreading a blanket on Sheep Meadow and having a picnic with a view of the skyline
  • Crossing Bow Bridge like in the movies and looking for turtles in the water
  • Listening to the street musicians playing under the trees
  • Recognizing together the places that appear in movies and shows you've watched
