Every number was confirmed at the official source that runs the service — the ministry, the child-protection agency or the national operator of the line — on the date shown. When a field is missing, we leave the gap rather than invent it: a made-up or out-of-date crisis number can leave a child calling a line that never answers. Nothing was copied blind from an aggregator.
Verified facts show the number in large type. Anything flagged reserved, unverified or in conflict appears dimmed and with its warning: use it with caution and confirm it. What we couldn’t find is said plainly — not found yet — instead of being filled in.
This is the first wave: 43 countries, focused on the four essential categories. Many are still missing, and several are missing categories — we say so rather than paper over it. The directory is a living organism: it is re-verified every six months and grows in waves. Every crisis fact expires; if you’re going to use one, confirm it yourself too.
The number, its label and its verification date are translated; each service’s own name and its notes are shown exactly as recorded at the official source — often in Spanish, the language they were verified in. (this content is still in Spanish)
