Guignol at the Parc Floral

Cultural Half day difficulty: Easy with kids: yes
Guignol at the Parc Floral

The puppet theater of Vincennes' Parc Floral: Guignol, the French puppet who has made children laugh for over two centuries, in a little theater among gardens. You understand everything without speaking French — kids shout the warnings in whatever language they have.

The pop wink

Guignol was born in Lyon around 1808, invented by the puppeteer Laurent Mourguet — and for over two centuries he has been the hero of French children: the rascal who outwits the gendarme with the audience's shouted help.

With kids

  • Shout 'watch out, Guignol!' with the whole audience
  • Sit in the front benches, where the shouting is best
  • After the show, the Parc Floral's playgrounds and gardens
  • Invent your own puppet show back home
Accessibility: 2+ — the perfect first theater show

With family

  • The show + a picnic in the Parc Floral
  • The park's free summer concerts
  • The butterfly greenhouse
  • Compare notes: who did Guignol trick today?
