Hershey's Chocolate World and Hersheypark

Cultural Weekend difficulty: Easy with kids: yes
Hershey's Chocolate World and Hersheypark

In Hershey, «the sweetest place on Earth», even the streetlamps are shaped like chocolates. Chocolate World offers a ride-through cart tour showing how chocolate is made amid the smell of cacao, and next door waits Hersheypark, an amusement park with roller coasters.

The pop wink

Milton Hershey built an entire town around his chocolate factory in 1903, with houses and a school for the workers. The streetlamps on the main street are shaped like the famous «Kisses» wrapped in silver foil.

With kids

  • Ride the cart through the simulated factory amid the smell of chocolate
  • Create your own bar, choosing the filling, the wrapper, and even the name
  • Spot the Hershey's Kiss-shaped streetlamps on the main street
  • Ride the roller coasters at Hersheypark, right next door
Accessibility: All ages; the roller coasters at Hersheypark have minimum-height rules

With family

  • Spend a whole day between the park's rides and the world of chocolate
  • Try the guided tasting to tell the different kinds of chocolate apart
  • Learn the story of Milton Hershey and the town he built for his people
  • Take a photo all together with the giant candy characters
